Dunfermline Cycling Club Coaching Day at Ingliston
February 7, 2017
Dunfermline cycling club will be conducting a road coaching day on Sunday 12th March 2017. This event is open to all members of Dunfermline cycling club and has also been offered to members of Carnegie Cyclones to continue developing the close links between the clubs.
The day will be progressive starting with some very basic techniques and skills including braking, cornering, gear selection, progressing to group riding and for those considering road racing there will be coach led scenarios later in the day. If you ride with the club on the road then this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and technique allowing you to become a safer and more confident cyclist.
Ingliston closed road circuit. DCC coach HQ will be at the West Gate. You MUST approach from the south using Hallyards Road off the A8, you will not be able to get to West Gate any other way due to other events being hosted across the site. See Map.
All club members attending should park directly opposite West Gate. Please take care moving with your bike from the car park to the West Gate.
The event will start at 9:30 am and finish at 4pm. A short lunch break will take place at 12:15pm.
It is recommended that all riders bring their own food and drink to last the whole day, bearing in mind you will be using lots of energy. You will have access to cold water to refill water bottles during the day.
Equipment and Clothing
Riders will need the usual cycling equipment, Road bike, helmet, shoes, clothing (dress for the weather). Additionally for those that have not been coached before there is time when you will be watching demonstrations, Q and A sessions so it is advised you bring along warm kit you can put on and take off quickly on top of your cycling clothing. There is an office building that I will hold the key for to secure bags and additional equipment if required.
There are toilets available at West Gate. There are no changing rooms or showers.
Lead coach Neil Daly being assisted by Mick Nally, Tom Bishop and Adrian Hay. Carnegie Cyclones will also be providing coaches.
The cost for both club members and members of Carnegie Cyclones is £10 per rider for the day. All riders are required to make payment directly to the Club Bank Account: Account Number 10577398 Sort Code 090222 Quoting Ref INGLXXXX (Where XXXX is the first four letters of your surname).
