DCC Club New Start and Refresher
coaching session
Saturday 7th May 2022
As life starts to return to normal, to encourage our members that haven’t been taking part in group riding for a while and to allow any new members to come along and cover group riding techniques, the club has arranged for a coaching morning at Lochgelly cycle park. For those that are not familiar with the venue it is a traffic free cycling circuit ideal for learning new skills and techniques.
Starting with the very basics including braking, cornering, gear selection and progressing to group riding. Every rider will gain something from this session. If you ride on the road, then this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and technique allowing you to become a safer and more confident cyclist.
Equipment and Clothing
Riders will need the usual cycling equipment. Road bike, helmet, shoes, clothing (dress for the weather). Additionally, for those that have not been coached before there is time when you will be watching demonstrations, Q and A sessions so it is advised you bring along warm kit you can put on and take off quickly on top of your cycling clothing. There is a building that bags, and additional equipment can be left in if required. Your bike should be clean and in good working order, tyres inflated etc, please take time to ensure your bike is fit for purpose otherwise you will not be able to take part in the session.
Coaches
All coaches are highly qualified British Cycling coaches. It is widely acknowledged that BC qualified coaches are amongst the most well trained in the world of cycling.
Food/Drink
It is recommended that all riders bring a cereal bar and water bottle, bearing in mind you will be using lots of energy. You will have access to cold water to refill water bottles during the session.
