Drummond Grieve, is a social cyclist (that likes to keep an eye on previous efforts) from Dunfermline & rides at least once per week (35-40miles)
Like many, Drummond's bike was the best way to get around during school years and was the proud owner of a Raleigh Chipper, Arena and Europa! However, it wasn’t until he spotted someone cycling round Loch Leven on a sunny summers day in 2012 that he was inspired to return to the sport.
Drummond subsequently bought a new road bike and graduated slowly from the occasional short weekend run to include a weekly commute to work before joining DCC.
Drummond always believed that cycling clubs were for hardcore cyclists/competitors. However, a local bike shop owner recommended the New Start Ride in January 2017. From there, he become a regular attendee on Saturday morning Bun Runs and at the Fife Cycle Park; the club coaching and advice sessions for all levels with qualified coaches to lift everyone’s standard, no matter their ability.
This year, in an attempt to maintain fitness over the winter, Drummond also attends the indoor coaching/training sessions run by DCC at their headquarters in the Hub every Thursday: hard work but great fun!
Drummond is also looking forward to the mountain bike coaching that the club will be running in the Spring at Lochore Meadows.
Non Cycling related interesting fact:
In his day Drummond would be unrecognisable as Mr Wimpy, a summer job in his youth, but not prefers getting fit, having fun & enjoying some fresh air!
