Social Ride Report
from Findlay - This months social ride leader

After introductions and a short briefing, seven of us rolled away from the Glen Gates on a dry, but chilly, autumnal morning.
What a joy it was to ride out of Dunfermline and down to Crossford on smooth tarmac after years of pothole dodging! We made good progress as a group, continuing west through Culross and Kincardine before heading up Lookaboutye Brae into Clackmannan.
At Forestmill, Jack joined us as planned, and a few more miles on we stopped at Saline Shaw Farm Shop for coffee, cake and a good chat.
With energy levels topped up, we headed back out into some welcome sunshine. A gentle breeze helped us on our way through Saline and Steelend and along to Redcraigs, before dropping back down through Wellwood. There we said goodbye to Jack before cycling the final mile or so back to Pittencrieff Park.
There was some disappointment that this was the last Social Ride of the year, but it was encouraging to hear some positive noises about joining the Club and giving the Saturday ‘Bun Runs’ a try. Hopefully we’ll see some new faces out with us before too long!
My thanks to Emma, Jack, Stewart, Darren, Louise, Dave and Bob for making my job as ride leader very easy and for contributing to such a pleasant morning’s ride.
88th Annual General Meeting
A final reminder that the club’s AGM will be held on Monday the 2nd November 2026 at 19:30 in the Steadings building in Pittencrieff Park.
You can use the Spond app to let us know if you are attending.
The agenda and documentation for the AGM will be available here :-
The AGM is an important opportunity to reflect on 2026 and to look forward to 2027. We will also make decisions on the activities we want to run next year and is a chance for you to get involved to keep things moving.
Bike & Blether Champions Call
A bike ride can create the space for a good blether and sometimes, that means talking about how we’re really feeling
Bike & Blether Champions are given the skills and confidence to open up conversations about mental health, listen to others and be a supportive person to turn to while out on a ride.
Developed in partnership with @SAMH and fully funded through Scottish Cycling’s Tour de France Grand Depart Social Impact Programme, the five-session training is open to volunteers from clubs, community groups and partner organisations.First session is 7th Nov. Edinburgh

Our New Online Club Shop is Now Live!
We've recently updated the Dunfermline Cycling Club online shop, moving to a new system integrated directly into the club website. The new shop still offers a clean, straightforward shopping experience on both desktop and mobile, but will significantly reduce the club's ongoing running costs.

Members can browse the range of club kit as before, but you'll now need to log in to your DCC website account to make a purchase. Checkout is by bank transfer, with collection or handover arranged through the Clothing Secretary. Discount vouchers, including those used to redeem volunteer points, are still supported. To make checkout quicker, you can save your contact and address details under My Addresses in your member profile.
